Hi, I’m Lauren Hayes — and I believe everyone deserves honest, no-nonsense information about intimate wellness products.

I started IntimateProductLab out of pure frustration. A few years ago, I was shopping for my first vibrator. What should have been a simple purchase turned into hours of scrolling through vague Amazon listings, sketchy review sites clearly written by people who never touched the products, and articles that felt more like ads than actual guidance.
That experience stuck with me. And it’s exactly why this site exists.
Who I Am
I’m a certified sexual health educator based in Portland, Oregon. I studied Human Sexuality at San Francisco State University, and I’ve spent the last five years working in sexual wellness education — writing, teaching, and yes, testing a lot of products.
Before launching IntimateProductLab, I contributed to several women’s health publications and worked with healthcare providers to develop patient education materials about sexual wellness. Through that work, I realized something: there was a massive gap between what people needed to know about intimate products and what was actually available online.
Most “review” sites are just rewritten Amazon descriptions with affiliate links slapped on. They don’t tell you what a product actually feels like, whether the materials are truly body-safe, or how it compares to similar options. That’s the gap I’m here to fill.
What IntimateProductLab Is About
This site is built on three principles:
Real testing, real opinions. Every product I review has been purchased with my own money (or clearly disclosed if provided by a brand) and tested for at least two weeks. I photograph every product myself, measure noise levels, test app connectivity, and evaluate materials firsthand. No rewriting spec sheets. No guessing.
Safety first, always. Body-safe materials aren’t optional — they’re the baseline. I’ll always tell you exactly what a product is made of, whether it’s safe for internal use, and what to watch out for. If a product uses questionable materials, I’ll call it out, regardless of how popular it is.
Zero judgment. Whether you’re buying your first vibrator at 50 or exploring prostate stimulation for the first time, you deserve information delivered with respect and zero awkwardness. Sexuality is a normal, healthy part of life. My job is to help you make confident choices — not to make you feel weird about it.
How I Test Products
I take product testing seriously. Every review on this site follows a structured evaluation process covering material safety, performance, build quality, noise level, ease of use, and value for money.

A Note on Independence
I want to be upfront: IntimateProductLab earns money through affiliate commissions and display advertising. When you click a product link and make a purchase, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
But here’s what matters — my reviews are never influenced by affiliate relationships. I’ve given low ratings to products with generous affiliate programs, and I’ve enthusiastically recommended products with no affiliate program at all. My credibility is the foundation of this site. Without it, nothing else works.
